Collectibles That Don't Collect Dust

This will work with the Section 31 Bluetooth ComBadge and (2026) TNG Bluetooth ComBadge

How do I connect my ComBadge to Alexa on Android?

1) Pair the ComBadge to your phone via Bluetooth as normal.

2) In your phone's Bluetooth settings, tap the ComBadge and make sure both Phone calls and Audio permissions are enabled.

3) Double-tap the badge. Android will prompt you to choose how to handle the gesture.

4) Select the Alexa app and choose Always to set it as the default.

5) That's it — double-tap now opens the Alexa mic and you can give voice commands.

Q. What Bluetooth permissions does the badge need?

A. Both Phone calls and Audio must be enabled in your Android Bluetooth settings for the badge to open Alexa and pass through your voice. If Alexa isn't responding, check these first.

Q. What can I control with Alexa through the badge?

A. Anything you've set up in Alexa — smart lights, thermostats, plugs, routines, music, timers, and more. Double-tap the badge, wait for the Alexa tone, then speak your command just as you would to an Echo device.

Troubleshooting:

Q. The double-tap opens a different app — how do I switch to Alexa?

A. Go to your Android Settings → Apps → Default apps (or "Opening links" depending on your device). Find the app currently handling the badge gesture and clear its default, then double-tap the badge again to re-assign it to Alexa.

Q. Alexa opens but doesn't hear me — what's wrong?

A. The most common cause is that Audio permission is disabled in Bluetooth settings. Open your Bluetooth device list, tap the ComBadge, and make sure Audio is toggled on alongside Phone calls.

Q. Does this work on iPhone?

A. The Alexa double-tap setup described here is Android-specific. iPhone support is under investigation — check back for updates.
